BISNISREAL.COM, JAKARTA – Thursday March 6,2025 –The Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI) has confirmed the involvement of several of its members in the organizational structure of the Operation Management Office (OMO) for Indonesia’s Forestry and Other Land Use (FOLU) Net Sink 2030. The party has clarified that this participation does not impose any financial burden on the state budget.
According to Agus Mulyono Herlambang, the spokesperson for the PSI’s Central Executive Board (DPP), the OMO structure comprises civil servants, retired civil servants, and external parties who can assist the OMO in executing its programs. “As we understand from the Ministry of Forestry’s Public Relations, the Minister has appointed several professionals, both from within and outside political parties, to strengthen the OMO team. This practice has precedents in previous administrations,” said Herlambang on Thursday, March 6, 2025.
Herlambang emphasized that the OMO’s funding is entirely derived from donors and partner countries, in accordance with legal regulations. “The core point is that it does not burden the state budget (APBN) at all,” he asserted.
PSI has vouched for the capacity and integrity of its members listed in the Ministerial Decree. “Our members hold positions in the secretariat support, assisting the Minister’s administrative work in the FOLU sector,” Herlambang explained.
The PSI spokesperson also highlighted the existing collaborative relationship between PSI members and the Minister of Forestry, Raja Juli Antoni. “Having worked with the Minister for an extended period, they can immediately contribute effectively, as they are well-versed in the Minister’s work rhythm,” Herlambang added.
The involvement of PSI cadres in the OMO FOLU Net Sink 2030 structure has drawn public attention. However, PSI has firmly stated that this participation is based on the professional capacity of its members and does not involve the use of state funds. This clarification seeks to address potential public concerns and ensure transparency in the OMO’s operations.
The FOLU Net Sink 2030 program is a critical initiative aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions from the forestry and land use sectors. The participation of various professional elements, including political party members, is expected to enhance the program’s effectiveness in achieving its targets.
