BISNISREAL.COM, DENPASAR BALI – Thursday May 22, 2025 Denpasar is currently ablaze with the spirit of intellectual and leadership development as the Himpunan Mahasiswa Islam (HMI) Denpasar chapter hosts its prestigious Training Raya. This grand training academy, featuring the Latihan Kader (LK) II (Intermediate Leadership Training) and Latihan Khusus Kohati (LKK) (Special Training for Kohati, HMI’s women’s chapter), commenced today and will run until May 24, 2025.
The rigorous selection process has culminated in the participation of 40 promising LK II candidates and 17 dedicated LKK candidates, drawn from various HMI branches across the archipelago. The central theme of this significant event, “Revitalizing and Synergizing the Spirit of Cadre Development in Shaping Quality Insan Cita Leaders Towards Golden Indonesia 2045,” underscores HMI’s forward-thinking vision in nurturing the nation’s future.
Adding significant weight to the occasion, Vice Minister of Transmigration, Viva Yoga Mauladi, a former leader of HMI Denpasar (1991-1992), lauded the organization of these crucial training programs. Speaking from Jakarta, he emphasized that “cadre development is the lifeblood of the HMI organization.” He asserted that without this continuous process, HMI, established in Yogyakarta on February 4, 1947, would be unable to ensure the regeneration of leadership and ideas. “HMI is at the forefront of cadre development,” he declared.
Beyond its role as a cadre-forming organization, HMI is also recognized as a vital platform for Islamic students committed to serving the nation. Its training programs deeply instill inclusive and progressive Islamic values, while championing diversity. “These essential Islamic values form a crucial foundation for social and national life,” added the former Presidium of the National Assembly of KAHMI (HMI Alumni Corps).
As an integral part of the Indonesian nation, HMI consistently emphasizes the internalization and implementation of national values in all its endeavors.
Viva Yoga expressed his high hopes that the Training Raya organized by HMI Denpasar, alongside similar initiatives by other branches, will serve as a wellspring of inspiration, producing highly motivated cadres who will continue to shape the trajectory of HMI in the years to come.
The opening ceremony of this significant Training Raya was graced by the presence of Putri Suastini Koster, the wife of the Governor of Bali. The vibrant event also featured a captivating Balinese dance performance and was attended by alumni of HMI Denpasar and hundreds of guests from various segments of society.
