BISNISREAL.COM, JAKARTA – Friday March 14,2025 Sharp Electronics Indonesia marks 55 years of its presence in Indonesia, a journey filled with innovation and deep emotional connections with its loyal consumers. Since its debut in 1970, Sharp has become an integral part of Indonesian family life, driven by the “Omotenashi” principle, a Japanese philosophy emphasizing sincere service and profound care.

“These 55 years are not just numbers, but a meaningful journey. We are determined to continue innovating and providing better comfort for Indonesian families,” stated Shinji Teraoka, President Director of Sharp Electronics Indonesia.

Sharp’s journey began in 1971 with the launch of the first black-and-white television in Indonesia, marking the beginning of the nation’s technological transformation. Over time, Sharp has offered innovative solutions that enhance daily life, from televisions, refrigerators, and air conditioners to air purifiers, kitchen appliances, and smartphones. Innovations like the 8K LED TV and Plasmacluster Ion technology reflect Sharp’s commitment to improving the quality of life.

In 2014, Sharp relocated its factory to Karawang International Industrial City (KIIC), now a major production hub. These facilities have achieved remarkable milestones, producing millions of units of refrigerators, washing machines, LED TVs, and air conditioners.

Sharp’s success is also evident in its strong market share. As of January 2025, Sharp leads the refrigerator market with a 32.6% share, and holds significant positions in the washing machine, AC, and TV categories.

To celebrate its 55th anniversary, Sharp Indonesia is hosting the Omotenashi #DenganHati exhibition at Mall Kota Kasablanka from March 12-16, 2025, in collaboration with Electronic City. The event features various promotions, workshops, and social programs, including “Sharp Bersedekah” and “Cuci AC Masjid,” demonstrating Sharp’s dedication to social welfare.

“Sharp believes this extraordinary journey is about making a real positive impact on Indonesian society,” explained Andry Adi Utomo, National Sales Senior General Manager of Sharp Electronics Indonesia.

Sharp is committed to moving forward, innovating, and maintaining strong customer relationships. The Omotenashi philosophy will continue to guide every step, ensuring that Sharp remains a trusted partner for Indonesian families.
