BISNISREAL.COM, BANDUNG – Monday December 15,2025 Long working hours, job pressure, and heavy traffic conditions often expose online motorcycle taxi (Ojek Online/Ojol) drivers to critical occupational risks such as severe fatigue and decreased concentration. These factors significantly elevate the potential for work-related accidents. Recognizing this urgent public health issue within the industrial setting, 4th Year Public Health Science (IKM) students from the Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Islam Bandung (FK Unisba) Class of 2022, Group 16, organized a proactive intervention. They launched KOPLING (Kegiatan Optimalisasi Perilaku dan Lingkungan Sehat bagi Ojek Online – Optimization of Healthy Behavior and Environment for Online Motorcycle Taxis) on Sunday, December 14, 2025.

This activity is a key realization of FK Unisba’s vision in the field of industrial public health. KOPLING’s primary goal was to provide Ojol drivers in Bandung City with practical strategies for maintaining health and safety while on the road.

The main educational session was led by occupational health physician, dr. Ganang Ibnu Santosa, MMRS. He delivered critical insights on overcoming fatigue and distraction during driving, emphasizing the necessity of adopting healthy work behavior to ensure the drivers’ safety and productivity. The event was characterized by an enthusiastic and orderly atmosphere, reflecting the drivers’ interest in enhancing their occupational safety.

Beyond the educational segment, KOPLING demonstrated concrete support by offering free health checks for all participants. The organizing committee also distributed essential safety and health reinforcement tools, including mobile phone holders (to promote hands-free driving), water bottles, vitamins, and other supplementary equipment, underscoring their commitment to occupational health and safety (OHS).

Chief Executive Kavin Abdurrahiem articulated the program’s dual objectives. “The short-term goal is to enhance Ojol drivers’ understanding of work-related fatigue and distraction. In the long term, we hope this activity contributes to reducing the work accident rate among online Ojek drivers,” Kavin stated. The program was successfully executed under the guidance of supervising and examining doctors, ensuring academic rigor and constructive feedback.
